Summer Groups

Hopkins is excited to be offering group sessions this summer! With grant-funded support from the Colorado Department of Human Services, Hopkins is able to offer the highest quality group sessions for all students who are neurodivergent learners or have an intellectual or developmental disability.

Groups have between 6-10 students, depending on age
All sessions last 90 minutes
Each group is 10 sessions totalling 15 hours
Groups can count as ESY in many districts! (Ask for more details)
All groups are facilitated by Hopkins Coaches (highly qualified, professional educators)

An in-person program for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities in grades 3-8. This social skills group provides structured sessions for students to learn and practice interpersonal skills. Participants work on communication, social cues, relationship building, emotional regulation, and problem-solving in a supportive environment. Facilitated by professional educators, students participate in activities like role-playing and discussions to help reinforce skills. The goal is to improve social functioning, boost confidence, and foster meaningful relationships.

Social Skills Superheroes

An in-person program for students entering 7th grade or higher, teaching essential life skills while also emphasizing the importance of collaboration and growth. This structured program is designed to teach individuals practical skills that are essential for daily living and independent functioning. Participants will learn a variety of skills that are important for everyday life, including activities of daily living, household management, and community integration.

F.L.A.S.H. Functional Learning and Skills Hub

An in-person program designed for teens and young adults who want to confidently navigate the transition from school to the next phase of their lives, including post-secondary education, employment, independent living, and community participation. Group activities include discussions, skill-building exercises, role-playing, guest speakers, and community outings.

Next Steps Navigators: Transition Planning for teens and young adults

A hybrid online/in-person program for parents with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities, focusing on how to use best practices in special education to support their unique learners. Online sessions are recorded and added to the Hopkins Parent Virtual Resource Library, to which parents will have access.
