Tutoring in the Year of COVID-19: How Hopkins is Keeping you Safe
At Hopkins Education Services we hold you and your child’s health as our top priority. As the leading tutoring service in Denver, we are dedicated to providing you the highest level of academic support and social emotional education. Over the past 5 years, it has been our honor to enter your home to provide tutoring and mindfulness services. As we continue to work during the current health crisis, we wanted to share with you the steps we are taking to keep your family safe and limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. At this time we continue to offer our award-winning services online and are cautiously planning for a safe return to in-home services.
Your Hopkins Education Coach is Taking Extra Steps
For in-person services, our coaches are strictly following current health protocols. These services are offered after having a discussion as a team and your family. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we adjust service models.
Please keep in mind that we are allowing each individual education coach to decide when and how they would like to proceed with in person services based on their personal comfort level and health needs. When the time comes for your in-person services to resume, we have instructed education coaches to closely follow these guidelines:
cancel any services if they are feeling sick or showing any symptoms of an illness (high fever, loss of taste/smell, etc.)
Conduct in-person sessions in an outdoor setting when possible
maintain social distancing with masks or face shields on during the entire session
Increased hand sanitizing
Provide students with their own materials to use and limit sharing of materials
Shared materials will be disinfected and shelved for 48 hours before being used with another child
Personal Materials and Increased Disinfection Process
All materials will go through a disinfection process and limited use between households.
Increased hand sanitizing and use of disinfectant on materials
Use of medical grade UV disinfection of materials when possible
A Commitment to Each Other’s Health
As we take steps to enter your home safely we are asking you to take steps to limit the spread of the virus and keep our coaches healthy while in your home. While we are offering suggestions for safe in home services we are giving each education coach the option to decide what feels safest for them. Based on CDC guidelines we ask of you:
all members in the home are wearing a mask while the education coach is in the home.
The work space be sanitized and set up to allow for social distancing.
Cancel the session (without penalty) if any member in the home is feeling sick or showing signs of COVID-19.
In-home sessions will happen in an outdoor setting (when possible).
In-person sessions that must be rescheduled will be scheduled as an online session.
We hope that you find some security in knowing that we are taking all the necessary steps to keep you and your family safe. We are working hard to keep children learning and developing their resilience for times such as these. We are grateful for all of our current clients who have kept us in business and look forward to new opportunities as we face challenges in the changing landscape of education.
